Greg’s area of expertise is investments, but not just from a numbers perspective. Greg’s focus is how to use investments in an individualized approach for each client, simplifying the complicated so people can reach their goals — and understand the plan along the way.
Prior to joining Ryan Financial Group, Greg was with Slocum & Associates, an institutional investment consulting firm.
During his decade plus at Slocum, he served in a variety of senior roles, including Director of Capital Markets Research where he led the firm’s hedge fund and equity manager research teams and worked closely with the firm’s largest and most sophisticated clients and investment committees.
When he’s not studying the markets, Greg stays busy with family, including his wife, Erin, and three children, which usually involves driving to a hockey rink, baseball field, golf course, volleyball court, or lacrosse field. He also serves as committee chair for Young Life Northern Twin Cities and is a board member at the North Oaks Golf Club. When he has time for hobbies, Greg is obsessed with downhill skiing (the steeper, the better), is a slightly better than mediocre golfer, and enjoys spending time at the family cabin pretending he knows something about fishing.
In addition to leading the firm's investment research process and managing portfolios, Greg also serves as a Wealth Advisor to a limited number of clients.
